Researching our family tree and history has become hobby of mine of which has spurred a whole series of new interest for me including things like actually reading books and learning about history (and liking it!). I have spent countless hours surfing the internet through other family websites, available free public records, genealogy websites, and even a few online books. I have posted information that I have found here for others enjoyment, if you can find enjoyment in such a thing, but it should be taken at face value. Most of the information I have found is second or third hand, though probably fairly reliable, it is not necessarily 100% correct or factual. I will do my best to cite sources where possible, just in case you do want to follow it all the way through, you can pick up where I left off.

As I begin digging and found a little here, a then some more there, it became apparent that in many cases if I could go back far enough on my own, someone else had already done the work from there. The names and families in the genealogy portion of this website are an accumulation and interpretation of both my work and (mostly) someone elses. It also became evident that if you go far enough back, you can probably determine that you are related to everyone. For purposes of keeping the scope narrow enough to make the research have a path to follow, and because some family names have much more information regarding them than others, I have "pruned" my family tree in order to make it more presentable. During the pruning process, I basically stuck with six family lines. The family lines are McMurray, Seitz, Modisette, Allen, Moye, and Collins. These were chosen purely on the fact of direct ancestry, available information, and the fact that some people are simply more interesting than others. I have extensive information regarding most of the cousins and other outliers on several of the families, so if you are curious about any of them, let me know. Further more, as I have found, evil is everywhere and it is apparently not a good idea to post information regarding people who are actually still alive. So if you are alive, that is why your name is not here.... and be thankful! ;)
